Shawn Michaels Project - Part Four (Interweaving)

Two Out Of Three Falls Match: The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) vs. The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) -  WWF 25/11/1989
Dissension in the ranks for The Brain Busters (They are gone after this)!!  I like how they aren’t quite as clicking early on, which leads to the first fall. It does annoy me that they lost a fall within one, maybe two minutes despite it working into the story. Heenan walks away from the match and the Busters. The Rockers take advantage and run havoc over The Brain Busters. I was worried that The Rockers would get another fall but that didn’t happen. The Brain Busters getting the fall by hanging Michaels on the ropes after a headscissors attempt (call back to one of their other matches)  was awesome though. The third fall was much more even with a more traditional approach of The Brain Busters working over The Rockers. A great hot tag by Jannetty and finish. Good match and a nice end to the feud. Sad to see The Brain Busters gone. ***

The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Niedhart) vs. The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) -  WWF 25/11/1989
A rare Face v Face feud. Two of the more prolific teams of the era. And of course, Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart. No one gives an inch in the early part of the match with the momentum constantly switching. The Rockers look to hit a few sequences, in comes Niedhart to put that to a stop. The momentum totally switches in the direction of The Hart Foundation after a sneaky knee to the back of Michaels when he as running the ropes. And they go to work. Boring work, mind you. They worked on the back of Michaels a bit but it wasn’t a big focus and wasn’t all that interesting to watch.  The finish is decent I guess. ***1/4

The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Niedhart) vs. The Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) -  WWF 28/04/1990
Similar to their November match, there is a fast start to kick of the match with some good tag wrestling and counters. Momentum constantly being pinged back and forth. The Hart Foundation becomes the de facto heels which suits them. The do a much better job of working over The Rockers and the back of Michaels. They build to the hot tags well, with the Rockers capitalizing on the few Hart Foundation mistakes. Demolition going down to ringside was a nice way to keep both teams strong and combining the feuds together. ***1/4

Kato vs. Shawn Michaels - WWF 15/03/1991
A shockingly boring match. Kato does nothing but a nerve hold that isn’t compelling to watch with the occasion big move. Michaels doesn’t really sell all that well and just does a bunch of moves. Not a good match. **
