Watching Random CMLL TV Show: CMLL TV - 06/04/1997 [El Hijo del Santo vs El Felino]

Karloff Lagarde Jr/ Guerrero de la Muerte/Halcon Negro vs Mr. Aguila/Yoshihiro Tajiri/Antar

This reminded me of a modern 2019 CMLL Arena Mexico match with the Chavez Brothers. Tons of fast paced, slick aerial wrestling mixed with nutty dives and great heat. Not only that, the match had a wicked rudo beat down of Taijri. Awesome match to kick off the show. ***1/2

Emilio Charles Jr/Apolo Dantes/Satanico vs Atlantis/Mr. Niebla/Brazo de Plata

Huge star power on the tecnico team. Atantis alone is big alone but Super Porky before he was Super Porky (Screw you, Super Porky rules). Mr Niebla rules too. A much different type match compared the one prior to this. Less focused on the aerial wrestling, although there was some in this with Niebla flying around, and more about de Plata's comedy spots and technical wrestling with the others. The finish with some more wrestlers (I can't recognize them) coming to the ring and beating the snot out of the tecnico team. Probably a tad too long for the finish they were going for but it's a heck of an angle. ***

Arkangel/Violencia/Black Warrior vs TAKA Michinoku/Shocker/Negro Casas

This is absolultey fire. The last caida especially. The way everything built and built. The Rudo team's beatdown of Casas, Taka having his time to shine and Shocker giving a tremendous performance, too. The Rudo team collectively was great. The individual bumping was well done. The offence was great. Great match. ****

WWA Welterweight Title: El Hijo del Santo vs El Felino

Now that's how you promote a blood feud with that finish. The rest of the match was so good. Loved the quick paced, yet tight grappling. Santo blends the aerial and technical sides to Lucha do well and shines here. Felino holds his own against Santo too. Very good main event. ***3/4
