ASUKA vs. Konosuke Takeshita
ASUKA is awesome. Really good wrestler for her age and excels in the intergender matches. And she has a better chance of winning with Konosuke Takeshita had a back injury coming into the match. The back injury came into play whenever Takeshita was on the defensive, taking that extra time to recover or the pain heightened if he was slammed back first into something. The match started off nicely with some brief brawling on the outside when ASUKA attacked Takeshita before the bell. Takeshita played the bully well, stomping on ASUKA’s hads, using his weight to his advantage. ASUKA had some great stretches of offence with her kicks. She got some good nearfalls on Takeshita as well. Just a very good match. ***1/2
KO-D Tag Team Title Match: DAMNATION (Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao) (c) vs. ALL OUT (Akito & Yuki Ino)
With DDT, there is a lot of culture references behind their feuds. For example, currently at this time, Japan are holding the rugby World Cup and Ino used to be a Rugby player so here we are. Sasaki is out to prove that means nothing in this match. They were able to blend that story into the match well. Akito and Soma had some great interactions with the “serious” straight wrestling with Sasaki and Ino doing that but having the added addition of the rugby ball, and the power it gives Ino. Liked the tag match, good stuff. ***1/2
DDT Extreme Title Three Way Elimination Match: Jiro Kuroshio (c) vs. HARASHIMA vs. Tetsuya Endo
Jiro Kuroshio aka Ikemen is rumored to be heading to WWE soon so he was definitely losing here but to who? Endo was Takeshita’s Peter Pan opponent but that added more credence to him being his opponent again. HARASHIMA hasn’t been in that big of a spot since Judgment 2017 where he lost to Takeshita. He could be it. This was the match to see who would be Extreme champion going into Ultimate Party. This was a fun triple threat match imo. Some great comedy early with Ikemen playing to the camera and doing his routine which turned into serious wrestling with some great nearfalls and wrestling. I loved the final stretch with HARASHIMA and Endo - tremendous wrestling. ***3/4
