Aloha World Order (Prince Togo & King Ala Moana & Koo & Antonio The Dragon) vs. Sanshiro Takagi & Mitsuya Nagai & Yusuke & Yoshiaki Yago
I can't lie, I just watched this match because of the DDT Universe thumbnail. It looked interesting and I was intrigued. I've never heard anything about this match. Never watched Inokuma, Yago or King Ala Moana (Futoshi Miwa) before so they are new. Koo is Shuji Ishikawa, Prince Togo is obviously Dick Togo and Honda is Honda, doing a Steamboat impression (a spot on one, I might add). The video starts off with Takagi and Nagai arguing, likely about Yago being in a total state. And when they are arguing, the locker door opens to show Yago passed out inside which got a great laugh. Takagi couldn't contain himself, neither could the camera operator either (I'm just laughing myself writing this). Nagai didn't laugh but he doesn't have a soul so I didn't expect him to. Yago had to be carried out on a stretcher because he was passed out as well. That was funny.
The match was pretty good. There was a nice brawl to kick off the match with AWO taking control with the more active numbers in the match - Togo and Takagi going after each other was great, as would their exchanges later in the match. Honda was fantastic in the match. His impression of Ricky Steamboat made me choke on food multiple times in this match. His poses after every move was hilarious. But comedy aside, he worked over Takagi, who was the FIP of the match, really well. Nagai and Koo exchanged some big, but brief, shots at the start as well like an awesome shoulder block -> try again spot. Yago, with the help of Nagai giving him beer, was able to make the hot tag before passing out again - a nice close for that bit. The closing stretch with Honda and Inokuma was really good as well with some nice nearfalls before Monana did the best theatrical "running" elbow drop ever - sorry, Rock. A fun undercard match in the grand scheme of things but it was really fun in all aspects.. Got tons of Honda sctick, if you're into that. Togo and Takagi were good as well - Togo was great on offence and Takagi is great at selling and being a compelling face. Yago was a highlight despite literally only throwing punches and being passed out. ***1/2
