Wrestling Catch Up: DDT, NOAH & IWRG

IWRG Intercontinental Heavyweight Title Match: El Hijo de Canis Lupus (c) vs. Trauma I - IWRG 24/11/2019
This match sticks out as it's a the son of Canis Lupus against Trauma 1. And given the father and Trauma 1 have had one of the best apuestas matches in the decade, I wanted to see if it'll translate. Trauma is all over Lupus at the start of the match. Attacking him in the ropes and even doing fouls. Trauma had an awesome submission that looked like a figure four leg lock but had Lupus facing the mat. Hijo de Canis Lupus did it in return in an awesome finish. The match wasn't great but it was a decent lucha. Trauma looked good Hijo de Canis Lupus threw some indie strike ---> run into the ropes moves that were meh but he had a good idea for the finish. And he comes out to Gangster's Paradise so ha. Trauma II (I think) came out, attacking Hijo de Canis Lupus' leg for an pretty good angle. Hijo de Canis Lupus had to be carried out of a stretcher. You don't see that in most lucha companies. ***

D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – A Block: Tetsuya Endo Vs Yuki Ueno - D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 In Itabashi - 05/12/2019
I dug this a ton. Endo got a chance to be the biggest guy in the match, for once and he totally ran with it. He was aggressive on top and bullied Ueno around with his mat work and high impact aerial moves. Ueno had a hell of a run as the underdog here. He had some crafty moves and looked really good. ***1/2

D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – B Block: HARASHIMA Vs Daisuke Sasaki - D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 In Itabashi - 05/12/2019
This was a good main event. Some neat mat work and good closing stretch. ***1/4

Go Shiozaki vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima - NOAH Starting Over 2019 - Day 7 03/12/2019
There isn't too much wrong with this match. It's a perfect main event for this setting and this building. The only flaw of the match is that they spent too much time meandering with strike exchanges when the match moved on from that point and looked to be building a pretty hot finishing stretch only to go back to step two. Other than that, this was very good. The start with the two hitting each other with their signature moves before hand shaking each other was a fun opening bit. Nakajima was laying in the kicks and dumping Go Shiozaki as hard on the floor as he can. Go wrecked his hip with a bump on the apron at one point. Go trying to fight his way into control only for Nakajima to coldly put him down. Go's selling was really good and he was a great contrast for Nakajima and his wide variety of offence. The finish took a bit long to go to with a constant, stop - slow strike exchange - back to the fast pace flurry of offence. It was a bit weird. ***3/4
