NJPW Fighting Spirit 1992 (Fujinami/Kosh vs Hase/Chono & Liger v Honaga)

Masa Chono & Hiroshi Hase vs. Dragon Bombers (Tatsumi Fujinami & Shiro Koshinaka) - NJPW Fighting Spirit 1992 Day 5 04/02/1992
This was pretty enjoyable. Most of this was Fujinami and Koshinaka working over Chono and attacking either his legs or neck. They were pretty methodical. Hase had some cool stretches of offence like his Giant Swing. ***

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title / WCW World Light Heavyweight Title Match
Norio Honaga (c) vs. Jushin Thunder Liger - NJPW Fighting Spirit 1992 Day 7 08/02/1992
Much like the first match, there was a complete contrast of styles with Honaga grinding Liger down, attacking the hip joint with brutal submissions. He was super grimy and not at all rootable unlike their 1991 match. Liger's selling was audibly loud - horrifying at times. It can always get a bit over the top, but it was done minimally. Liger's comebacks were fiery and explosive. His dive to the outside looked great. This was a great match that's able to maximise basic match storytelling formulas - work a body part, comeback, finish. ****1/4
