The Battle Of The Sons: Hijo del Perro Aguayo vs Hijo del Santo

Best Two Out Of Three Falls Match: El Hijo del Santo vs El Hijo del Perro Aguayo - CMLL Super Viernes 25/08/2006
Santo attacked Perro right away and the first fall went hard into an awesome chaotic brawl into the crowd. The crowd is surronding the action so it's hard to even decipere what happend. It was nuts. Perro won out the exchange and quickly won the first call with a running double footstomp. The second fall was pretty good. Santo began getting more offence and eventually overwhelmed Perro with his grappling, trapping Perro in a standing headsisscors before locking him in a submssion I won't even attempt to name (Santo trapped Perro's arms in his legs and then uses his feet to choke Perro) to win the third fall. The third fall is when things get serious. Perro attacks the mask and lossens it, not enough to cause the DQ though. Santo is hurt from Perro's attack but continues to stay alive, even hitting a diving senton through the rope to the outside. I think my favourite story in lucha is the battle between the rough, edgy lucha and the graceful beatiful lucha, and this match up is great for that. Perro tries to punch and kick his way to victory while Santo is locking in submissions, hitting topes left and right. But the finish turns that on its head with Santo using a rudo trick to get the win via a low blow and then a pinning cradle. Super good match. ***1/2
