GAORA TV Title Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match: Yoshitatsu (c) vs. Jun Kasai
Even in the dry world of All Japan Pro Wrestling, they do something different. And different is good. Jun Kasai in All Japan is a wild experience; he is out of place, but in a good way. He adds a rough edge to the world. He was perfect for this match too. Not too many people would be willing to get nailed in the face by the back end of the ladder while Yoshitatsu is doing a Terry Funk spin spot. Yoshitatsu isn’t a great wrestler but what he gives is effort and that’s all Kasai needs to work off. There was a cool spot where Yoshitatus lasts Kasai with a chair and Kasai no-sells it, while bleeding and smiles in response. A fun match. ***
Triple Crown Title Match: Suwama (c) vs. Yuma Aoyagi
I think this was elevated by a good finishing stretch which itself was flawed (too many nearfalls that had no real drama, a few lapses of logic to try and create that drama, etc). It took a hell of a lot to put Aoyagi which is a good rub for Aoyagi to have. Suwama has great looking suplexes and utilised them well in the finish. Aoyagi had some good last ditch pieces of offence, like his spinning head kick, and generally made Suwama work for the win. The rest of the match wasn't anything too special though. Again, no drama in the result of the match. Aoyagi isn't a strong wrestler and Suwama has always struggled to properly fill the body of his matches unless he has Kento Miyahara with him. ***
