Hiromu Takahashi vs. DOUKI - NJPW Summer Struggle 2021 - Day 20 - 27/08/2021
Hiromu had a somewhat long term injury, so this was his big return and he looked way better than he did pre-injury. His matches had a little staleness attached to them, honestly. And while this wasn't an amazing match, with one too many moves with no purpose, this was a tremendous effort by him and DOUKI. DOUKI was terrific in this match, I thought. Some of his counters were brilliant. I loved his strategic moments where he rolled to the outside whenever Hiromu was gaining momentum. It was different from the stalling Jay White does though, as DOUKI cut off Hiromu rather than pissing him off. This could've ended with a more memorable finish past the two traded quick counters but it was a productive way to end things. ***3/4
