G-REX Title First Champion Decision Tournament Semi Final Match: T-Hawk vs. El Lindaman
I agree with everyone else, I thought this was great. Their history together links in well with the counter heavy nature of the match. The familiarity of the two made things very difficult to control. T-Hawk was dominant, due to his size and manpower but Lindman made him work for everything, always being quick to counter T-Hawk’s signature moves. And the same likewise actually. Lindman tried constantly for the deadlift German, from many different angles but T-Hawk always had it scouted. T-Hawk slapped and pounded Lindman with his chops and work on the neck, which was great in the early stages. El Lindman is so resourceful though and despite his small stature, you can always buy into him. The crowd was bouncing for this match and deservedly so. Great opener, setting the stages for El Lindaman. ****

G-REX Title First Champion Decision Tournament Semi Final Match: Takanori Ito vs. Hayato Tamura
This got lost in the noise of the prior match but this was really good in its own right. Ito didn’t win but he was the best wrestler in it and stood out as a future star. Tamura was good as well. I didn’t really watch his hyped matches in Zero1 and JTO but he showed his reputation as well. It’s a good clash of styles, with Ito being one of the companies UWF styled wrestlers but Ito is easily adaptable and can, and has done so against the likes of CIMA, wrestle in a traditional way. Ito worked the arm and legs, which Tamura did well to sell and incorporate into his own offence. Little things like not having a good enough base to throw a hard enough forearm goes a long way. Ito realy outshone Tamura and bested him in the strike exchanges but Tamura’s power based offence wins him the match, to send him to the Semis. ***1/2

G-REX Title First Champion Decision Tournament Final Match (Vacant): El Lindaman vs. Hayato Tamura
This was definitely the lesser of the three tournaments of the night but it was solid enough and was able to use what the semis brough to the table to make a satisfying final. El Lindaman was once again about to get the victory thanks to his resourcefulness and his tenacity. Tamura continued his selling from the previous match but was able to showcase his offensive moves in this match. Good match. The pictures of El Lindaman and Kenta Kobashi together had me laughing. The size difference plus Lindaman’s face was hilarious. ***

Stardom Cinderella Journey In Nagaoka - 23/02/2022

High Speed Title Match: Starlight Kid (c) vs. AZM
As always the pacing was something to admire about this match. These two have wrestled plenty of times and have good chemistry but I still think this lacked something in terms of drama. The effort to have that was evident but it just felt ordinary to me. This was quite sloppy as well. Opposed to their usually slickness, this was disappointing in that regard. AZM winning the title was a good moment and she put a ton of emphasis in those final moments but I mostly found this to be a longer, less exciting version of their other matches. ***1/4
