King Of Gate 2022 First Round Match: YAMATO vs. Yuki Yoshioka - Dragon Gate King Of Gate 2022 - Day 1 - 11/05/2022

Excellent match that did so much to put over Yoshioka not only in result but the way in which he won. He was dominant and in control. Minoura had the results but he really lacked that killer instinct that Yuki Yoshioka had in the match. Even if Yoshioka would've lost the match, I would have felt like he gained a lot coming out of it but he got the win on top of besting YAMATO in the ring. YAMATO was great in return as well. His selling was brilliant in making sure Yoshioka was the star of the match. He couldn't figure out Yoshioka, who did come off like a monster at times, despite all his signature moves, like the Frankensteiner of the Almighty. YAMATO got more angry and stiff but it didn't work and once the tide turned, there was no going back. Great match. Exactly what is needed from more main events. 15 minutes of explosive wrestling with fantastic storytelling. There is so much waste in wrestling but when you tighten it up, it works superbly.  ****1/4
