BJW Tag Team Title Match: Astronauts (Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura) (c) vs. Strong BJ (Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi) - BJW Bloody Musou Tournament Opening Round - 27/06/2022

This was a superb effort to create one of the best tag team matches of 2022. It was balls to the walls great, constantly filled with great wrestling that kept its purpose without every meandering or stalling in such an obvious way. The match started off slow with arm-wringers but soon turned into a fast paced, hard hitting match. In terms of pacing, this was magnificent as for the 30 minutes, the match rarely slowed down, and even then it was for a good reason and worked within the match structure. It’s truly hard to pick out the best wrestler of the match or even the best pairing as Nomura had fantastic stretches with Sekimoto as did Abe with Okabayashi. All I know is that I want to see this match again and again. And I’ve seen countless matches involving the four wrestlers. Abe and Okabayashi almost blew up after the match, adding to the tension that the match had been built around. Fantastic. ****1/4
